Lions Club & Leo Clubs join the action on Week 98 cleanup at Versova drive started way long before by Versova resident Lawyer Afroz Shah
On our request to Leo District President Parth Parekh of District 3231A3 he didn’t hesitate to declare the weekend of 19th & 20th August as their second activity of the year. First was a huge participation & the second was no less. Just three days ago Leo District President Parth Parekh appeled to his clubs & his Micro team & ZC team were in action. The timings were last minute announced as 3-5pm due to heavy rain prediction 3 days prior.
Judgement day arrives & Leo Umang constantly on calls with our clubs President Lion Rajesh Salian since morning on, “What if the rains dont stop”. We expected 30-40 participants & lady luck seemed on our side too. The rains stopped by 1 pm & by 3 pm we saw a good crowd of 37 Leos in total. Children from schools like St. Mary & Vibgyor also joint the cleanup. The team of Afroz Shah & all present started with the National Anthem being played. 1 tractor, 1 JCB & approximately 150 plus volunteers started the cleanup enjoying light drizzles which cooled us down when we were tired. The Leos were on their toes & just went head first without asking, we could say that we had our 3-5pm well spent.
Members of Lions Club of Link Road Malavani was joined by Leo Club of Bhayander, Leo Club of Dahanu, Leo Club of Gokuldham Yashodham, Leo CLub of Bombay Seven Bungalows & Leo CLub of Kandivali Western Express.
